*Pulse Polio Program Started in Repallewada Sarpanch Ajmeer Suresh Nayak Administers Polio Drops to Children Under 5 Years of Age June 28 Khammam District Punnami Representative Gugulot Bhausingh Nayak Enkur: The Pulse Polio Program was launched in the Repallewada school premises on Sunday with the aim of protecting the health of children in Repallewada village. Village Sarpanch Ajmeer Suresh Nayak attended as the chief guest and inaugurated the program. He personally administered the first polio drop to the children and launched the program. Speaking on the occasion, the Sarpanch said, “For a polio-free society, every parent must administer polio drops to all their children under 5 years of age. This is a protective shield for the future of our children.” *Drops for all eligible children in the village* As part of the program, health staff administered polio drops to all children under five years of age in Repallewada village. Parents participated in large numbers with their children and made the program a success. Sarpanch Suresh Nayak, Deputy Sarpanch Kalangi Veerabhadram, ANM Malothu Nirmala, Asha Karyaktar Samajwadi, Anganwadi teachers Jyoti Kumari and many villagers participated in this program. The health staff explained the importance of polio drops to the parents. They said that since polio is a dangerous disease that causes permanent disability, two drops are mandatory for every child. The school staff and Anganwadi workers made special efforts to make the program successful.
