The Kerala government has expressed strong objection to the central government’s removal of the Kerala representative from the Mullaperiyar Dam Safety Review Committee. Water Resources Minister Mons Joseph said that this decision was not right to be taken without consulting the state. He reminded that the dam issue is under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and mutual consent between Kerala and Tamil Nadu is required. He urged the center to reconsider decisions that harm the interests of the state.
