Road laid before 2014 remains unrepaired; children, students and farmers face daily difficulties
Janakapur, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad District — July 31, 2026:
A key CC road in the Sub-Jail-front colony of Janakapur has turned severely dilapidated due to years of neglect. The stretch from Ashoka Kiranam shop to the Rythu Vedika and Anganwadi Centre was laid before 2014, but residents allege that it has not received even a single major repair since then.
The road is an important route used every day by women, children and students. Pregnant women and mothers with infants visit the Anganwadi Centre through this road, while students of the nearby Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) also depend on it for their daily commute.
The road also leads to the Rythu Vedika, where video conferences, farmer-related programmes and official meetings are regularly conducted. The Sakhi Centre is also accessible through the same road, increasing the daily movement of residents, students, farmers and officials.
With the road surface deteriorating badly, commuters are facing serious inconvenience. Potholes and damaged portions of the CC road have made travel difficult, particularly for two-wheelers and pedestrians. During rains, the condition is reportedly becoming worse, raising concerns over the safety of children, women and elderly persons.
Residents Demand Immediate Repairs:
Residents have urged the concerned authorities to inspect the road and take up immediate repairs or reconstruction of the damaged stretch. They appealed to the authorities to give priority to the road considering its importance for access to the Anganwadi, ZPHS school, Rythu Vedika and Sakhi Centre.
Locals said that a road witnessing such regular public movement should not be allowed to remain in a neglected condition for years and demanded prompt action to restore safe transportation.
