Sri Kalahasti, June 23, (Punnami News): ‘Tejobharath’ founder president and Mukkanti Devasthanam board member Kola Vishali announced that a public movement named ‘Swachha Swarnamukhi’ will be launched with the aim of protecting the Swarnamukhi river, which is a living symbol of the spiritual and environmental heritage of the Sri Kalahasti region. She submitted a memorandum to the temple EO BK Venkatesulu and the chairman of the board of trustees Kott Sai Prasad on Thursday, seeking their support and guidance for this movement to revive the river, which is suffering from pollution and encroachment. Speaking on the occasion, she recalled that along with the Sri Kalahasti temple, which is a Panchabhuta sthalam, the world-famous Kalankari art also flourished on the banks of this river. She explained that this program is being launched with the inspiration of Namami Gange and Sabarmati Riverfront to overcome the challenges faced by the river due to waste disposal today. Under this, it will be identified polluted areas in the river, sanitation drives, establishment of waste collection centers, planting saplings in the river basins, organizing public awareness seminars in schools and temples, and establishing a large volunteer network with youth and devotees. She called on everyone to make the Swarnamukhi river clean and green for the coming generations with the slogan “Prakriti Seva – Samaj Seva”. She expressed the hope that this will be made a model environmental movement in AP with the cooperation of the temple authorities. Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Environment Day, on behalf of the BJP leadership, she presented a Kola Vishali “Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam” sapling to EO BK Venkatesulu and asked him to plant it in the vicinity of the temple.
