Khammam June (Puvvada Nagendra Kumar Punnami District Reporter) Despite charging lakhs of rupees in fees from students in private junior colleges in Khammam district, allegations are being made that many educational institutions are failing to provide minimum infrastructure. Issues such as non-compliance with fire safety standards, which are crucial for the safety of students, lack of exit routes in emergencies, and unavailability of fire extinguishers are causing serious concern to parents. Parents are expressing their concerns that colleges that are charging huge fees from students are not providing facilities at that level. They say that there is no proper ventilation in classrooms, drinking water, toilets, laboratories, and libraries are also substandard in some places. On the other hand, although fire safety permits, building safety standards, and other permits are mandatory according to government regulations, there is criticism that the authorities of the relevant departments are not conducting regular inspections. People are demanding strict action against colleges that do not comply with the regulations. In the wake of recent fire incidents in educational institutions in many parts of the country, questions about the safety of private colleges in Khammam district have become more serious. The question of who will be responsible in case of any accident is disturbing parents. Parents and public organizations are demanding that the authorities stop being negligent in matters related to the lives of students and conduct special inspections in all private colleges in the district, conduct a comprehensive investigation on fire safety, building security, infrastructure, and fee regulation, and take strict action against the managements who have violated the rules.
