Sri Kalahasti, June 27, (Punnami News): A free eye medical camp was organized on Saturday in the premises of Sri Ramalayam in Kanchinapalli village of Thottambedu mandal under the joint auspices of Trinethra Vaidyalayam Trust and Sri Bhakta Kannappa Eye Hospital. The villagers showed a great response to this camp, which was organized with the aim of providing better eye medical services to the people of the rural areas. Hospital coordinator Doraswamy said that ophthalmologists conducted comprehensive eye examinations on a total of 31 patients in the camp. After the examinations, 13 people were diagnosed with cataracts and another with pterygium, and necessary instructions were given for further treatment. Also, the doctors distributed free medicines to all the patients who attended the camp and created awareness about eye health. Dorasamy said that the hospital staff Damodar and Lalitha, as well as the villagers Tulasi Kumar and Venkatesh, worked tirelessly to make this camp a success. The organizers said that such free medical camps are very useful for the rural people and they will continue such service programs in the future as well.
