Khammam, June (Puvvada Nagendra Kumar Punnami District Reporter) Terming the Emergency imposed by the Congress government led by former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi as a dark day in the country’s democratic history, a protest program was organized on Thursday under the auspices of Bharatiya Janata Party Khammam District President Nellore Koteswara Rao. BJP Telangana State Executive Member Galla Satyanarayana participated in the program held at the Babasaheb Ambedkar Center in the city. Speaking on the occasion, Galla Satyanarayana said that democratic rights were violated during the Emergency period and restrictions were imposed on freedom of expression. He called on everyone to be vigilant for the protection of democracy. Rudra Pradeep, Shyam Sundar Nayak, Naidu Raghava, Gutta Venkateswarlu, Yellarao Goud, Manda Saraswathi, Mani, Swarna Latha, Namburu Ramalingeswarao, Vallala Ramesh, Thajunothu Bhadram, Deekonda Shyam, Sai Ram, Mekala Nagendra, Nakiri Kantiveera Bhadram, Ravi Goud, Jwala Narasimha Rao, and others participated in the program.
