The central government has revised passport fees after 14 years. The new charges will come into effect from July 1. The fee for a 60-page regular passport has been increased to Rs. 3,500/- and the fee for a Tatkal passport to Rs. 6,000/-. The fee for a 36-page regular passport has been fixed at Rs. 2,500/- and the fee for a Tatkal passport at Rs. 5,000/-. As the increased fees will come into effect across the country from July 1, those applying for a new passport will have to pay these revised charges.
