The Kerala government has launched the ‘Priyadarshini’ free bus travel scheme to promote women’s empowerment. Women and transgender people can travel free of cost in regular buses of the state transport corporation. The facility has been implemented in about 3,125 buses in the first phase. The performance of the scheme will be reviewed for the first 100 days and then extended to other bus services.
