  • Polio drops administered to 97 percent of children in Atmakur Municipality

Atmakur, June 28 (Representative of Harikiran, Punnami): The polio drop distribution program conducted in Atmakur Municipality on Sunday as part of the National Pulse Polio Program continued successfully. Out of the total number of children under the age of five in the municipal area, 2,625 children were administered polio drops through polio booths and transit booths. With this, 97 percent of the target has been achieved, medical officials said. It was revealed that medical staff will go door to door to administer polio drops to the remaining 3 percent children on Monday. The state-level monitoring team visited the polio program and inspected the arrangements and expressed satisfaction. Program Officer Dr. Anshudar visited several polio booths and inspected the management of the program. He was accompanied by HEO S. Sudhakar, HP Parvathi, Health Assistant G. Ravinder Reddy, Telugu Desam Party Urban President Tummala Chandra Reddy participated. Similarly, Dr. Sai Prasanna and Municipal Commissioner Ganga Prasad visited various polio centers and thanked the people. They said that it is commendable that a large number of parents have given polio drops to their children. They appealed to the people that everyone should cooperate in building a polio-free society and that the remaining children should also be given polio drops.
