‘Farmer’s’ anger over ‘smart’ scams.. Gollapalli farmer Mallesh warns government in ‘Praja Darbar’! Urea should be distributed in the same way as gas cylinders! If the authorities do not wake up, a ‘maha dharna’ is inevitable! Kamareddy, 22 June, (Punnami Representative): No government in history has ever recovered from the hardships it has caused to the farmers, the backbone of the country! Farmer Reddy Mallesh of Gollapalli village in Ramareddy mandal has issued a stern warning to the government and officials in the ‘Praja Darbar’, saying that they will not stand idly by if they harass the breadwinners in the name of technology. He took a dig at the currently implemented urea online booking system. Where are everyone’s smartphones? Don’t the illiterate farmers have a say? Speaking to the magazine Gollapalli, farmer Mallesh said that not every farmer has a big smartphone. Even if they do, many farmers in the villages are not educated. They have to go through a lot of trouble to download such apps and book urea through them. He expressed his concern that it is not fair to threaten farmers in the name of technology. Some are getting it.. others are not getting it! Due to the loopholes in this online app, some farmers are getting urea on time, while others are turning away in disappointment. This discrimination and difficulties are causing the stomachs of the farmers. Why is the gas cylinder formula.. not applicable to urea? Farmer Mallesh suggested a wonderful and simple solution to the government. He demanded that urea be provided in the same way that gas cylinders are booked for every household across the country by simply calling a toll-free number. Farmer ID: It should be based on the registration ID of each farmer. Booking with a single call: A technology that is understandable to the common man should be brought so that urea can be booked with just one phone call to the toll-free number. Distribution in three installments The government should take the responsibility of directly providing the urea required by the farmers in three installments during the crop season. Laziness of officials.. Failure of ‘apps’! Although the Collector, RDO, Tehsildar, and Mandal Agricultural Extension Officers (AEO) are at the field level in the district, the lack of proper staff in the management of the apps and monitoring the distribution is a big problem. Mallesh demanded that this useless app policy be immediately abolished. If it is reversed, it will not be tolerated.. Say ‘Maha Dharna’! Mallesh warned not to test the patience of the farmers. They have issued an ultimatum to the government to immediately implement the toll-free number system and facilitate the distribution of urea in phases, failing which they will unite all the farmers across the state and hold a large-scale ‘Maha Dharna’. It remains to be seen whether the higher authorities and rulers will respond to these demands made by the farmers’ voices! And???
