Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) infused a record ₹55,300 crore into the Indian equity market in June. Analysts said the main reasons for this increase in investments were stable economic growth, controlled inflation and increasing confidence of foreign investors in the Indian market. Investments flowed mainly into banking, financial services, IT, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. Market experts said that the increase in foreign investment has provided strong support to the domestic stock market and has also increased investor confidence.
