Dr. Shyam Prasad Mukherjee’s martyrdom day celebrated in Srikalahasti

Sri Kalahasti, June 23, (Punnami News): Balidan Diwas was celebrated on Tuesday morning at Berivari Mandapam Square to commemorate the death anniversary of Dr. Shyam Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and a great man who sacrificed his life for the cause of the nation. On this occasion, BJP State Vice President Kola Anand garlanded the portrait of Mukherjee installed there and paid tribute. Later, he spoke and remembered the sacrifices made by Mukherjee for the unity and integrity of the country. He recalled that he had founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951 with the aim of fighting against the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and for a single constitution and single flag in the country. It was said that Mukherjee, who had gone to Kashmir without any permission to oppose the permit system for entry, was arrested on May 11, 1953 and later died under suspicious circumstances in Srinagar Jail on June 23. His death still remains a mystery, he said. Kola Anand said that his martyrdom took place in the course of the movement to repeal Article 370, and the current Prime Minister paid true tribute to him by repealing that article and fulfilling Mukherjee’s aspirations. Local party leaders, district vice-presidents Melagaram Subramaniam Reddy, BC association president SV Ramana, area hospital member Garikapati Ramesh, district official spokesperson Kondeti Gopal, mandal presidents R. Harish Reddy, Vedam Krishnaiah, Bhagarthi Venkatesh, district Mahila Morcha president Pragya Sri, Kissan Morcha district president Kunati Nagaraju, senior leaders GV Amarnad, Punyam Dilli Kumar Reddy, Ram Umasingh, Maddu Vasu Yadav, activists, and others participated in the program.
