Congress government has completely failed to implement promises: Manchireddy Kishan Reddy Yacharam / Ibrahimpatnam, June 20: Rangareddy district BRS party president and former MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy has strongly criticized the Congress government for completely failing to implement the major promises made to the people during the elections, even after almost three years in power. He alleged that Congress leaders are making baseless allegations against the previous BRS government to divert people’s attention from their failures. Speaking at a media conference held on Saturday, he said that after the formation of Telangana state, under the leadership of former Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), development has been achieved in agriculture, irrigation, drinking water, electricity, education, medicine, welfare and industrial sectors to become an example for the country. He said that the Congress is trying to hide its incompetence by criticizing the BRS government, which has led Telangana on the path of development for ten years. He reminded that the BRS government has given top priority to the welfare of Telangana farmers and has provided investment assistance to about 72 lakh farmers through the Rythu Bandhu scheme. He said that thousands of farmer families have been provided financial security through the Rythu Bima scheme. He said that Telangana has become the state that has allocated the highest amount of funds for farmer welfare in the country. However, he criticized the current Congress government for acting without clarity in the implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme, causing great confusion to the farmers. He accused it of cheating the farmers by promising to waive off loans of up to two lakh rupees during the elections and imposing many conditions and rules after coming to power. He said that the words spoken before the elections have no relation to the work being done now. He explained that Telangana has topped the country in the production of Yasangi and monsoon crops under the BRS regime. He said that safe drinking water has been provided to every household through Mission Bhagiratha and 24-hour free quality electricity has been provided to the farmers. He reminded that water has been provided to lakhs of acres through Mission Kakatiya and construction of irrigation projects for the restoration of tanks. Manchireddy Kishan Reddy alleged that the Congress government has completely failed to protect the interests of the state in the matter of Krishna waters. He said that the government, which should have stood firm before the Center for the rights of Telangana, is acting negligently. He demanded that the people be given clarity on the share of water due to the state and the benefits of the projects. He said that it is not the right policy to criticize the opposition without implementing the main promises like six guarantees given to the people, unemployment allowance, financial assistance to women, farmer loan waiver, and job creation. He suggested that the Congress government should focus on solving public problems. On this occasion, referring to the issue of the recently inaugurated Arutla Model School, the Chief Minister said that the construction of that educational institution was completely done during the BRS government. He said that painting the already constructed school and promoting that it was built by them is misleading the people. He criticized that Congress leaders are trying to take the development works undertaken by the previous government to their account. He also demanded that the Chief Minister disclose to the people how much funds have been allocated for the development of the constituency even though he has already visited Ibrahimpatnam constituency four times. The local MLA also said that the government should clarify how much funds were requested from the government. He said that it is sad that the village sarpanch submitted a petition to allocate development funds to Arut, the largest village in the constituency, but it was set aside. He suggested that the government should act keeping in mind the needs of the people instead of doing politics in the development of villages. He said that public representatives should work beyond parties and communities and that it is not the right way to try for political positions rather than the development of villages. Manchireddy Kishan Reddy clarified that the BRS party will continue to fight on behalf of the people for the development of Telangana state, the welfare of the people and the protection of the rights of farmers. He demanded that the Congress government should release a white paper on the implementation of its election promises and answer the people. He said that the BRS party will intensify its struggle for the solution of public problems, the welfare of farmers and the development of villages.
