Colleges across Telangana call for bandh today, demand release of fee reimbursement, scholarship dues and cancellation of GO No. 9 Hyderabad: 18 BC associations have called for a bandh across Telangana today (June 30), demanding immediate release of fee reimbursement and scholarship dues of BC, EBC, SC and ST students in the state. Keeping in mind the future of the students, the leaders of the associations demanded that the government urgently release the pending dues of about Rs. 8 thousand crores. Similarly, they demanded that the recently issued GO No.-9 be immediately canceled by the government and the fee reimbursement system implemented earlier be restored. They expressed concern that thousands of students are at risk of being deprived of higher education due to GO-9, which will become a heavy burden on poor and middle class families. To this end, MP R. Krishnaiah held a press conference with representatives of 18 BC associations at the media point in the Secretariat. Speaking on the occasion, he appealed to students, parents, managements of educational institutions and public organizations to cooperate with the college bandh undertaken to protect the rights of students. He warned that the government should respond immediately and resolve the problems of the students, otherwise the movement would be intensified. Rajender, Etthiri Bhimraj, Gujja Krishna and several BC association leaders participated in this meeting.
