The report said that 78 percent of the elderly have faced natural disasters like heat waves, floods and droughts in the last three years. Many are facing health problems due to high temperatures. The survey revealed that 52 percent are unable to afford essential medicines. The study said that elderly people living alone, those above 80 years of age and those suffering from health problems are more at risk. Experts have suggested that special climate protection measures are needed for the elderly.
