The Supreme Court has sought urgent hearing on a petition filed by some students seeking postponement of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination. However, the court refused to do so. It said that the examination had already been cancelled and re-conducted in the wake of the question paper leak allegations and that there was no need for intervention at this stage. The petitioners argued that the students were under mental stress. However, the court said that the case will be considered as per the normal hearing process. With this, the re-test scheduled for June 21 will go ahead as usual.
