Atmakur: In today’s fast-paced life, people are running mechanically and therefore health problems arise, so instead of that, some time should be allocated for yoga and meditation every day to maintain health, said Municipal Commissioner Ganga Prasad. The prestigious Yoga Day undertaken by the state government was celebrated in the municipality with great enthusiasm. A special yoga camp was organized in the municipal office premises on Sunday morning. The Municipal Commissioner, staff, city ex-councilors and prominent figures did yoga asanas and pranayama together in the morning. Municipal Commissioner Gangaprasad said, “Yoga is very good for physical and mental health. Health is the greatest blessing: He explained the importance of yoga in everyday life and how it relieves mental stress. Small demonstrations were also organized at some places to create awareness among the people about yoga. Everyone was asked to make yoga a part of their daily life. The program was attended by Municipal Commissioner Yoga Trainer Anil, TDP Town President Tummala Chandra Reddy, BJP leaders, Kudumula Sudhakar Reddy, 20th Ward Ex-Councillor Sura Bhaskar Reddy, TDP State Women Secretary Pulimi Sailaja Reddy, 5th Ward Ex-Councillor Mahbub Basha, 14th Ward Ex-Councillor P Penchalayya, 2nd Ward Ex-Councillor Siva Kota Reddy, 9th Ward Ex-Councillor Rama Devi, municipal officials, Staff participated.
