A strong protest was held under the auspices of the Telugu Desam Party women’s wing in Rajampalem village, Gopalapuram mandal, East Godavari district, condemning the inappropriate and uncivilized comments made by YSRCP leader Gudivada Amaranath on AP Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha garu. The women leaders were incensed that such casteist and cheap criticism was being made against a Dalit woman minister holding a constitutional post because she lacked the courage to confront him politically. On this occasion, under the leadership of Gopalapuram constituency women president Kakarla Rama Tulasi, all the women of Rajampalem village came together and threw eggs at the portrait of Gudivada Amaranath and performed ablutions. They warned that if women and the Home Minister are insulted, they will not stand idly by and watch, and that Amarnath should retract his comments and immediately apologize publicly, otherwise, in the future, YSRCP leaders will have to be given proper wisdom by women. A large number of women activists participated in this program.
