Gajuwaka, (Punnami Representative): Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao said that people should recognize and distance themselves from the forces that have become obstacles to the development of the state. Speaking at a meeting of key workers held at the party office in Gajuwaka, he criticized that the state had suffered severe losses economically and administratively during the previous YSRCP regime. He said that it is strange for the YSRCP leadership, which gave priority to political interests over the welfare and development of the people, to talk about public issues now. He alleged that the leaders who had been negligent in the past in the Visakhapatnam steel industry are now pretending to show love for the workers. Palla said that some people are deliberately distorting the steps taken by the central government to overcome the financial crisis of the Visakhapatnam steel plant. He said that it is not right to spread false propaganda about the decisions taken for the development of the industry. He suggested that everyone should act responsibly in view of the welfare of the workers and the future of the industry. Reacting to the recent accident in the plant, Union Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy immediately visited the scene of the incident and stood by the families of the victims, he recalled. He said that the decisions taken by the Center to provide compensation to the families of the deceased and provide job security have given relief to the working families. Palla Srinivasa Rao called on all the people to cooperate in that direction and said that the government’s current goal is to increase development, investment and employment opportunities in the state.
