Sri Kalahasti, June 17, (Punnami News): The Collector, along with local MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy, visited the field of natural farming farmer A. Pushpa of Vedam village in Sri Kalahasti mandal on Wednesday. District Collector Dr. S. Venkateswar suggested that farmers should take advantage of natural farming methods that provide high profits with low investment. The Collector, who inspected the seed pellet manufacturing process at the field level, himself prepared seed pellets with solid, liquid Jeevamrutham and ash and sprinkled them in the field. Later, he spoke to farmer Pushpa and inquired about the availability of fodder and economic benefits. The Collector stated that natural farming protects soil health and the environment. Later, the Collector and MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy along with the farmers planted paddy in the field with the help of hand transplanter and paddy. On this occasion, they said that agricultural mechanization reduces the labor and expenses of the farmers and increases productivity. The Collector clarified that the district has ample urea stocks and farmers need not worry. Farmers are advised to know the fertilizer stocks through the ‘APAIMS’ mobile app and book them in advance. District Agriculture Officer Prasada Rao, RDO Bhanuprakash Reddy, Market Committee Chairman Chenchaiah Naidu, Agriculture Department officials, public representatives and a large number of farmers participated in the program.
