Tallapudi, Punnami Representative, June 29: The sand ramp management staff removed the sand that had accumulated on the main road in Tallapudi mandal on a war footing on Monday. Locals and motorists are expressing joy over this action taken keeping in mind the safety of motorists traveling on the road. The workers removed the sand that had accumulated on the road in heaps with shovels and lifted it with buckets and completely cleaned the road. The ramp management immediately responded and took action as the sand could cause accidents, especially for two-wheelers. Speaking on the occasion, ramp manager Koppaka Kotnis said that they are monitoring the routes where sand is transported every day with their staff. As soon as they receive information about sand falling anywhere on the road, they send workers to clean it. They also revealed that strict action is being taken against lorries that transport sand without covering it with tarpaulin. “Many accidents are taking place due to two-wheelers slipping due to sand falling on the road. It is commendable that the management responded immediately and got the road cleaned. All sand ramps should also act responsibly in this manner,” said a local motorist. “The safety of people’s lives is of utmost importance to us. We are removing sand from time to time as part of our responsibility to prevent road accidents. Lorry drivers should also follow the rules and cover the sand with tarpaulin before moving it,” said the sand ramp management.
