Sri Kalahasti, June 23, (Punnami News): A free eye medical camp was successfully organized at the old age home under the auspices of the Giving Hands Foundation. The camp was organized under the leadership of the founder and chairperson of the foundation, Dr. M. Varalakshmi, and President Sai Deepika, in collaboration with Vasan Eye Care Hospital. In this, free eye tests were conducted for about 35 elderly people. Hospital staff Naresh Krishna, Ambika, Srinivasulu, and Sridevi provided medical services. The elderly people who were found to have eye problems during the tests were personally taken to Vasan Eye Care Hospital in Tirupati and arrangements were made to provide them with free surgeries and treatments. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. Varalakshmi said that they consider it their responsibility to provide health services to the poor in old age homes and that the foundation’s goal is to stand by the elderly who are helpless. Sai Deepika also actively participated in these service works and provided reassurance to the elderly. While the social services performed by Varalakshmi and Sai Deepika as mother and daughter stand as a role model for many, locals expressed joy over this program that brought light to the eyes of the elderly.
