  • Anti-Emergency fighters honored in Kavali**

* On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the imposition of Emergency, a dark chapter in the history of Indian democracy, the Emergency warriors were felicitated in Kavali town. This felicitation program was organized under the auspices of the Bharatiya Janata Party Kavali One Town Branch and presided over by the town president Manda Kiran Kumar. The local warriors who fought for the restoration of democracy and the protection of civil rights in those dark days, without even sacrificing their lives, were remembered on this occasion. The organizers felicitated the local fighters Kurapati Narayana Reddy and Endluri Ranganath Singh, who actively participated in the Emergency period and revolted against tyranny, with shawls. Later, they were presented with a portrait of Mother India. On this occasion, the honorees were emotional.. They expressed their special gratitude to the organizers for remembering and honoring them on this day. Speaking at the event, the key leaders recalled that the Emergency imposed on June 25, 1975, completely destroyed the spirit of the country’s constitution and the fundamental freedoms of citizens. They praised the sacrifices of the nationalists who fought against tyranny by enduring prison sentences without fearing the oppression of the then rulers and the lathicharges of the police, as invaluable. They said that it is the responsibility of all of us to explain the dark days of those days and the value of democracy to the youth of today. BJP state executive member Gundlapalli Bharat Kumar, District Telecom Advisory Committee member Kuttuboina Brahmanandam, District Treasurer CVC Satyam, SC Morcha state former vice president Parasu Venkateswarlu, senior leader Pathapati Venkataramana Reddy, senior journalist Siddhi Jaya Pratap Reddy, Cooperative Cell district convener Kunapareddy Srinivasulu, Jaladanki MPTC Kuttuboina Madhavrao Yadav, Town Secretary Matta Mallikarjuna, Annangi Suresh and other leaders and activists participated in the program in large numbers.
