Farmers’ association and CITU leaders held a dharna in front of the Proddatur Agriculture Department office on Monday, demanding strict action against dealers selling fertilizers, seeds and pesticides at high prices and that all types of fertilizers be provided through farmer service centers. They demanded that the app system for the sale of fertilizers be canceled and the prices of fertilizers increased by the central government be reduced. Later, they handed over a memorandum to Agriculture Officer Varaha Reddy. The officer assured that action would be taken after investigating the sale of fertilizers and fake seeds at high prices.
