Viswanathan Anand awarded prestigious SJFI medal

Indian chess legend and five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand was presented with the prestigious Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) medal at a special function held in Chennai. The award was presented in recognition of his distinguished services to the Indian sports sector and the recognition he has brought to India in world chess. Several prominent players, sports administrators and journalists participated in the function. Many praised Anand for inspiring the youth to choose chess as a career. This honour marked another important milestone in the history of Indian chess.
