On this occasion, Dr. Addala said, “Every year, October 1 is celebrated as the International Day of Older Persons. According to the resolution passed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 14, 1990, this day was started to be celebrated worldwide from October 1, 1991. The main purpose of this day is to commemorate the services rendered by the elderly in the progress of society, family and country, to create awareness in the society about the physical, mental, economic and social problems faced by the elderly, to ensure that they are not neglected, subjected to violence or discrimination and to protect their fundamental rights. Spending time with the elderly in daily life, listening to them carefully. Using the experience, passing on the life experience and knowledge they have to the next generations. They were asked to use it as a guideline and take regular care of their diet, medicines and mental well-being.
