Tallapudi Punnami Representative June 24: Tallapudi police conducted a lightning raid on a gambling establishment operating on the outskirts of Annadevarapet village in Tallapudi mandal on Monday evening and arrested five gambling den owners. On this occasion, Rs. 16,100 in cash and 52 poker cards were seized, Tallapudi SI T. Ramakrishna said. Based on reliable information, SI T. Ramakrishna along with his staff Mudayyya, Suresh, Phani Kumar and Srinivas conducted a surprise raid on those playing “Kotha-Banti” gambling in an open area on the outskirts of Annadevarapet village. Five people were arrested in this raid and a total of Rs. 16,100 in cash and 52 poker cards were seized from them. SI T. Ramakrishna revealed that a case has been registered against the arrested accused and further investigation is underway. He warned that police checks on those who are conducting illegal gambling will continue continuously.
