India-Seychelles joint commitment to Indian Ocean security

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Seychelles President Patrick Hermine during his visit to the country. They considered the Indian Ocean a shared responsibility of both countries and decided to work together for security, stability and development. A total of 19 agreements were signed in the fields of defense, maritime security, digital payments, space exploration, health, agriculture, education and others. India provided Seychelles with fast patrol vessels, vehicles and necessary facilities for the Coast Guard. The Prime Minister said that the impact of climate change is severely affecting small island nations and said that the partnership will be further expanded in the fields of green energy and blue economy.
