Atmakur, June 15 (Harikiran, Punnami Representative): The Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) organized a membership registration program in all primary and high schools within the mandal on Monday under the auspices of the Atmakur mandal branch. This program was undertaken with the aim of involving teachers in the association for the academic year 2026-2027. Speaking on the occasion, APTF State Councilor R. Venkateswarlu Reddy said that two teams were formed in all the schools in Atmakur mandal and the teachers were organized to register for the membership. He said that a large number of teachers in the mandal have accepted membership after recognizing the programs being undertaken by APTF and the struggles being waged by the association on the problems of teachers. He said that there is currently concern among teachers about the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test). He urged the government to immediately take steps to remove the fears among teachers. He demanded that a special TET be conducted and the pass marks be fixed at 35 percent. It was also suggested that the examination system should be based on the syllabus and subjects related to the classes taught by the teachers. Speaking as the chief guest at the event, APTF District President Surendra Reddy said that it is sad that even after two years of the formation of the new government, thousands of crores of rupees of pending dues related to teachers have not been paid. He demanded that the government immediately set up a PRC Commission. He asked the government to announce 30 percent interim allowance to the employees, release the four installments of pending famine allowance, and pay all other dues immediately. He warned that if the problems are not resolved, large-scale movements will be launched in the future.
