India’s digital payments system Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has expanded to another country. According to the details announced by Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, UPI services have also been launched in Greece. With this, Indian tourists, students and businessmen will be able to make digital payments there easily. The government has called this another important step in expanding India’s fintech capabilities globally. While UPI services are already available in many countries, the inclusion of Greece further expands the international digital payments system.
