Awareness among students to eradicate drugs

Erpedu, June 29, (Punnami News): Essay writing and public speaking competitions were enthusiastically organized on Monday at Sri Easwar Reddy Law College in Anjimedu village of Erpedu mandal to raise awareness among students about drug abuse. Organized under the auspices of the college vice-principal Dr. Nithya Devi on the topic of “Drugs – Cannabis Threat”, a large number of students participated in these competitions and showcased their talent. The students analyzed the serious consequences of drug abuse on personal life, family system and society as well as its impact on the future of the youth through their speeches and articles. They also explained the need for legal measures to eradicate drugs as well as the need for society, parents and educational institutions to work together. The college management said that this program was organized with the aim of raising awareness among the youth about drugs and increasing social responsibility. The students who showed talent in the competitions were congratulated and prizes were given. Speaking on the occasion, the faculty members advised the students to actively participate in awareness programs that are useful for the society along with education and to be exemplary. The program was attended by the college principal Dr. Venkateshwarlu, vice principal Dr. Nithyadevi, faculty members and students.
