China has announced that it is ready to further strengthen relations with India. After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the two countries should enhance mutual trust and resolve controversial issues through dialogue. China has also expressed interest in working with India in the BRICS forum. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the two countries have decided to work together for the development of the global South, in addition to increasing cooperation in trade, investment and technology.
