Moharam Peer procession with devotion in Srikalahasti

Sri Kalahasti, June 23, (Punnami News): The Peer procession festival in Sri Kalahasti town on Saturday was celebrated with great devotion and pomp and show. This huge procession, which started from the local dargah, proceeded through the streets of BP Agraharam. On this occasion, every devotee, regardless of Hindus or Muslims, participated in the procession and had darshan of the Lord, offered special prayers and received blessings. In this festival, which stands as a symbol of religious harmony, the devotees were ensured to face no difficulties during this festival by Dargah Peethadhip Syed Ahmed Baba Farid, Dargah Urs Committee members Rajeshwara Rao, Oruganti Nageswara Rao, Ramesh Babu and Udaya Bhaskar. To maintain law and order, the police personnel under the leadership of One Town In-charge CI Nagaraju and One Town SI Ramakrishna made heavy security arrangements and regulated the traffic to prevent any untoward incident. With the presence of local people and dignitaries from various communities in large numbers, all the streets of Srikalahasti were packed with devotees.
