The interim trade agreement being negotiated between India and the US has reached its final stages, central government sources said. US Trade Representative Jameson Grier will visit India this week and meet Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. Although some tariff issues are yet to be finalized, the two countries have reportedly reached an agreement on the main points of the agreement. Officials believe that if this agreement comes into force, Indian products will have better opportunities in the US market than competing countries.
