The Delhi High Court has upheld the central government’s temporary ban on Telegram in the wake of allegations of NEET-UG 2026 exam question paper leak. The court said that the government can exercise emergency powers under Section 69A of the IT Act. The government argued that illegal exchange of information related to the exams and fraudulent activities are going on on Telegram. The court clarified that the government’s action is aimed at protecting the interests of students.
