Former MLA Mekapati Vikram Reddy criticized the coalition government for completely failing to make fertilizers available to farmers in abundance before the start of the Atmakur Kharif season. He expressed his anger that farmers are being inconvenienced by implementing a new policy in the name of the APAIMS app. He said it is unfortunate that urea and DAP fertilizers, which should be easily available to farmers, are now being brought to a situation where they are being forced to rely on apps and technical regulations. He said that there are a large number of illiterate farmers in rural areas and farmers who are not aware of the use of smartphones, and forcibly implementing the APAIMS app in such a situation will cause more difficulties for farmers. He said that the government has not yet clarified how fertilizers will be provided to farmers who are farmers, farmers who do not have a pattadar passbook, and farmers cultivating on government lands or in low-lying areas of ponds. He criticized the government that should be solving the problems of farmers, but is making them wander around offices and fertilizer shops. He reminded that during the previous YSR Congress Party government, special steps were taken to provide farmers with fertilizers and seeds without any shortage, and agricultural services were taken to the village level through Rythu Bharosa Kendras. He said that farmers are currently worried due to the negligence of the coalition government. In view of the fact that lakhs of acres of cultivation will be done in Nellore district this Kharif season, he demanded that the reserves of fertilizers be increased immediately and supplied without any shortage. He also demanded that the technical problems in the use of the APAIMS app be resolved immediately and special help centers be set up in every mandal and every village. He demanded that the Mekapati Vikram Reddy government announce a special policy for tenant farmers keeping in mind the interests of farmers and adopt complete transparency in the distribution of fertilizers. He asked that the decisions that are causing difficulties to farmers be immediately withdrawn and steps be taken to prioritize agriculture.
