The state government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the massive fire that broke out in a three-storey commercial building in Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh, which claimed the lives of at least 15 people. The building, which housed a graphics training centre, library and pet shop, was engulfed in flames, trapping several students. Eyewitnesses said some jumped from the building to escape the danger. Action has been taken against the building owners as well as the officials concerned. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a full inquiry into the violations of building safety standards.
