Sri Kalahasti, June 21, (Punnami News): Police conducted a surprise raid on a poker establishment in an open area west of BC Colony in Challapalem, Sri Kalahasti Rural Mandal on Saturday evening. The rural police conducted these inspections on the basis of reliable information received on Sunday evening. In this raid, the police arrested six people who were playing poker. Rs. 11,000 in cash and poker equipment were seized from them. The police have registered a case against the arrested people and are investigating. Speaking on the occasion, police officials warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in anti-social activities like poker and gambling in public places. They said that they will continue to keep a constant vigil on such activities in the villages and that full details will be revealed after the investigation.
