Khammam, June (Puvvada Nagendra Kumar Punnami District Reporter) State Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has severely criticized BRS Working President Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao. He accused KTR of trying to deceive the people with lies and deceit out of frustration after losing power. KTR, who is in a position where he cannot say how many double bedroom houses were built and given to the poor during the ten-year BRS rule, said that it is ridiculous for him to criticize the Indiramma Housing Scheme being implemented by the Congress government. He said that the Congress government is fulfilling the dream of lakhs of poor families to have their own homes in two and a half years. He commented that it is absurd for BRS leaders, who have faced allegations of huge corruption in issues like Kaleshwaram, car race, sheep distribution, electricity purchases, and Dharani, to criticize the Congress government. He criticized that the SC and ST communities were used only for vote bank politics and that adequate housing was not built for the tribal masses during the ten years of rule. He said that the Congress government is allocating 3,500 Indiramma houses in the first phase and an additional 1,500 houses to the constituencies in tribal areas and converting the huts in the tribal huts into pucca houses. He said that the Congress government has undertaken the construction of more houses in rural areas in two and a half years than the houses built by BRS in ten years. Recalling the challenge he had thrown once again on the issue of Indiramma houses, Minister Ponguleti announced that he would contest as an MLA only if the Congress government builds more houses than the houses built by BRS in ten years in Hyderabad by the next assembly elections. Similarly, he challenged whether KTR could declare that he would not contest as an MLA if the Congress government builds more houses. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that the Congress government is implementing development programs that benefit the people, and KTR is also aware of that, which is why he is not coming forward to accept his challenge.
