Significant progress has been made in the ongoing talks on the Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) between India and the US. US Trade Representative Jameson Greer met Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi and discussed the interim trade agreement as well as the full BTA. Both countries responded positively on issues such as market access, digital trade, strengthening supply chains, and removing import-export barriers. It was decided to finalize the interim agreement soon, paving the way for a comprehensive trade agreement. If this agreement comes into force, the trade relations between the two countries will be further strengthened.
