Cybercrimes increasing in India.. Supreme Court suggests strict action

The Supreme Court has expressed concern over the increasing number of cyber crimes in the country. The court has directed that strict action be taken against criminals who are defrauding people through online frauds, digital payment frauds and fake investment schemes. Denying bail to the accused in a recent cyber fraud case, the court observed that cyber criminals have become parasites of the society. The court said that there is an increasing trend of committing crimes in one state and hiding in another. In the wake of increasing digital transactions, cyber security experts are advising people to be vigilant and not to trust unknown links, calls and messages. The central and state governments are also taking special steps to control cyber crimes. Officials said that such crimes can be reduced only by increasing awareness among the public and following security measures.
