Kurnool, June 21: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a special yoga awareness program was organized in Kurnool with farmers, consumers, social workers and representatives of voluntary organizations. All the participants in this program resolved to maintain physical and mental health through yoga practice. The program was led by NCS Publicity Gopinath, R.S. Damodar, Region Director (R11) Akbar, Region Director (R11) G. Jayamma, Nari Cell representatives and several social workers. On this occasion, various yoga asanas, breathing exercises and body relaxation processes were demonstrated under the guidance of yoga instructors. Farmers, women and consumers participated enthusiastically and learned about the health benefits of yoga. The speakers said that in today’s stressful lifestyle, yoga should be a part of everyone’s daily life and that building a healthy society is possible through yoga. The country’s economy will be strengthened only if farmers are healthy, and therefore it was suggested that yoga awareness programs should be organized more widely in rural areas. At the end of the program, he congratulated all the participants and called for adopting a healthy lifestyle with the message “Happy Evening – Happy Healthy Day”. A large number of Lions Club members, Impact International representatives, farmers, women, consumers and local people participated in the program.
