Lunch hour program under the auspices of the Struggle Committee.. Petition submitted to DEE

The AP Electricity Trade Unions’ Struggle Committee organized a lunch hour protest program at the Atmakur Electricity Department Division Office on Monday as part of a state-wide call. Union leaders said that this program was taken up to bring the problems faced by employees and staff working in the electricity department to the attention of the government. On this occasion, union leaders and employees first reached the Atmakur Electricity Division Office in a rally holding flexi banners and raising slogans. Later, they protested in front of the office by raising slogans explaining their problems. The leaders said that the problems of electricity employees have been pending for many years and that they are taking up movement programs in phases under the auspices of state-level unions to resolve them. They urged the government to take immediate steps for the welfare and protection of the rights of employees. Later, the union members of the Struggle Committee met Atmakur Divisional Executive Engineer (DEE) Bhanu Nayak and submitted a memorandum containing their problems. DEE Bhanunayak assured them that he would bring the issues of the employees to the attention of the government and work towards resolving them.
Speaking on the occasion, the union leaders said that although the electricity sector provides the most vital services to the people, the employees working in this sector are facing many problems. They appealed to the government to pay special attention to resolving staff shortages, job-related issues and pending issues. They said that they are organizing protest programs as per the call of the state committee as they have explained their problems to the government on many occasions but have not received a complete solution. They urged the government to respond positively to the fair demands of the employees. UEEU Union District President Kondamur Hazarathaya, Union State Committee Member G.V. Sivaprasad, Atmakur Division Secretary Vijayaramireddy, leaders Narasimha Reddy, UECWE Union Division Secretary G. Srinivasulu participated in this program. Union leaders Sheikh Ali, Chenchaiah, Ramanaiah, Penchala Rao, Babu, Hari, Chinnababu and others participated and made the protest program a success.
