*Gandhi Jayanti celebrations in Sullurpet – Congress in-charge Kiran Kumar pays tribute to Mahatma’s statue*

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Constituency Congress Party In-charge D. Kiran Kumar paid floral tributes to the statue of Gandhi at the Sullurpet RTC bus stand. Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Kumar said that Nehru laid the foundations of the society dreamed of by Gandhiji as Prime Minister and led the country forward. He praised Indira Gandhi for standing as a beacon of hope for the people with land reforms, nationalization of banks, and construction of houses for the poor. He criticized the BJP government for changing the name of the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and making people forget Gandhiji’s name. He accused the BJP of ignoring the common people and giving alms to corporate companies. He said that it is defying the Constitution and democracy by turning the Election Commission into its own agenda and becoming a pawn for Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, and by removing the votes of eligible people in the name of SIR. He called on every citizen to wake up and stop the removal of illegal votes. Town Vice President S.K. Yasin Bhasha, District SC Cell President Kannambakam Harikrishna, Kisan District President Jogi Vinod, Constituency Secretary Boggula Suresh, Town Women’s President Kalyani and others participated in this program.
