Editorial Policy

Punnami aims to publish accurate, timely and useful news in the public interest. Editorial decisions should be based on relevance, verification and reader value, not on political, commercial or personal pressure.

Accuracy and sourcing

Reporters should verify names, dates, locations, quotations, documents and material claims before publication. Anonymous sources should be used only when necessary and when their information can be responsibly assessed. Allegations should be clearly attributed and affected parties should be given a reasonable opportunity to respond.

Headlines and updates

Headlines must fairly represent the story and must not use misleading clickbait. Publication times must be genuine. A modified time should change only after a meaningful editorial update.

Independence and disclosure

Opinion, analysis, advertising and sponsored content must be identified clearly. Reporters should disclose conflicts of interest to the editor and must not accept benefits that compromise editorial independence.
