Only new electric two-wheelers allowed in Delhi from 2028

The Delhi government has approved a new electric vehicle policy aimed at reducing pollution and promoting a clean transport system. According to the policy, from April 1, 2028, all newly registered two-wheelers in Delhi will have to be fully electric. Newly registered light commercial vehicles and garbage collection vehicles will also be converted to electric. The government will provide incentives to those who scrap old petrol and diesel vehicles. The government aims to significantly reduce air pollution by increasing the number of charging stations in the city and promoting the use of EVs, officials said.
