Police have registered an FIR in connection with a clash between Shia communities in Hardpanju area of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said that the clash was triggered by a dispute over a religious procession held on the occasion of Ashura. All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association President Maulvi Imran Reza Ansari alleged that Pakistan-backed forces may be behind the incident. However, the police clarified that an investigation is underway from all angles and strict action will be taken against those who find evidence. Additional forces were deployed to maintain law and order in the area and the situation was brought under control.
