Palestinian Ambassador Abdullah Abu Shavesh has urged the Indian government and Indian NGOs to provide urgent assistance to the Palestinian health system, saying that the government and Indian NGOs are in dire straits. He said that hospitals in Gaza and the West Bank are in complete shortage of many key medicines. He said that the stocks of medicines needed for cancer treatment are almost exhausted. He appealed to extend the ‘Arogya Maitri’ program announced by the Indian government to the Palestinian areas as well. He said that if medical supplies are provided, thousands of patients will get relief.
