Hyderabad, June (Puvvada Nagendra Kumar Punnami Reporter) ABVP State Secretary Macherla Rambabu announced that a school bandh will be called across the state on June 23 to protect government schools, control fees of private educational institutions and resolve education sector issues. To this end, he appealed to students, parents and teachers to cooperate with the bandh. Speaking on the occasion, he accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of acting like a brand ambassador for the private and corporate education mafia. He criticized the conspiracy to close 23,000 government schools in the name of rationalization. He accused the government of not taking any regulatory measures despite private and corporate educational institutions charging exorbitant fees and of rolling out the red carpet for them. He said that the implementation of the Right to Education Act (RTE) has stalled and there is a serious shortage of infrastructure and teachers in government schools. He also said that even though the new academic year has started, government school students have still not received uniforms. They warned that the government should immediately respond and take action on the issues in the education sector, otherwise the movement would be further intensified.
